The Cubs top pitching prospect, lefty Brailyn Marquez was lights out on Thursday night for the Cubs Single-A affiliate, South Bend Cubs.
Marquez fired 6.0 shutout innings, allowing just one hit. The most impressive thing of his night, Marquez struck out FOURTEEN (14) hitters while hitting 101 mph! (per South Bend broadcaster Brendan King)
He struck out 8 through 4.0 innings and retired his last 6 via strikeouts. Marquez threw just 71 pitches with only 18 out of the strike zone. He didn’t walk a single batter either. Incredible.
