
The Cubs have made another minor trade on Wednesday. 2nd baseman/outfielder Tony Kemp is heading to the Cubs from Houston in exchange for catcher Martin Maldonado.
Kemp is hitting .227 in 186 plate appearances this season. He’s played 29 games at 2nd base and 29 games in the outfield. Kemp is 27 and was a 5th round pick in 2013.
Maldonado was acquired by the Cubs for Mike Montgomery just a few weeks ago.
Kemp fills the extra bench player hole for the Cubs.
