Cubs fell to Burlington 10-1.

  • #5 prospect, OF Cole Roederer went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk.
  • #30 prospect, SS Andy Weber went 2-for-4.

High-A Myrtle Beach

Pelicans fell to Down East 5-3.

  • OF Jimmy Herron went 2-for-2 with 1 RBI, a run scored, and 2 walks. Herron has recorded a hit in five consecutive games.
  • C Tyler Payne went 2-for-4 with 1 RBI and a run scored. Payne is batting .286 this season in 16 games.

Double-A Tennessee

Smokies won both games of doubleheader: 5-1 and 5-2.

  • #8 prospect, LHP Justin Steele threw 4.0 scoreless innings in game two. Steele allowed just one hit while striking out four and walking none.
  • RHP Brad Markey dominated in game one in 7 2/3 innings. Markey allowed just one earned run while striking out eight and walking none.
  • OF Jared Young went 3-for-4 with 1 RBI and a run scored in game one.
  • 2B Christian Donahue went 2-for-3 with a run scored in game two.
  • SS Vimael Machin went 2-for-2 with 1 RBI and a walk in game two.

Triple-A Iowa

Cubs beat San Antonio 8-6.

  • SS Addison Russell went 0-for-3 with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts.
  • 2B Ian Happ went 2-for-4 with 1 RBI and a walk.
  • RHP Carl Edwards Jr. got the win after striking out two in 1.0 inning.
  • OF Donnie Dewees went 3-for-5 with 2 RBI and a run scored.
  • 3B Trent Giambrone went 1-for-4 with a 3-run homer.
