Pelicans fell to Fayetteville 9-4.

  • Cubs #6-ranked prospect, SS Aramis Ademan went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI and a run scored. Ademan has reached base safely in his last 3 games.
  • C Tyler Payne went 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Double-A Tennessee

Smokies beat Birmingham 7-6.

  • Cubs #1-ranked prospect, SS Nico Hoerner went 2-for-4 with a walk and run scored.
  • Cubs #29-ranked prospect, C Jhonny Pereda went 2-for-4 with a solo homer.
  • LF Charcer Burks went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and a run scored.
  • 1B P.J. Higgins went 3-for-5 with a run scored. Higgins is now batting .379 in 8 games this season.
  • RHP Michael Rucker allowed just a hit over 3.0 innings of relief. Rucker struck out four and walked none. This was Rucker’s third relief appearance this year, making the switch from a starter.

Cubs beat Oklahoma City 4-3.

  • CF Ian Happ went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
  • RHP Carl Edwards Jr. allowed an earned run in 1 2/3 innings of work.
