Single-A South Bend

South Bend fell to West Michigan 7-3.

  • Cubs #27-ranked prospect, RHP Riley Thompson allowed 6 hits and 1 earned run over 4.2 innings. Thompson struck out four and walked none.
  • 3B Levi Jordan went 2-for-3 with a walk and run scored.

High-A Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach fell to Lynchburg 3-0.

  • RHP Javier Assad tossed 5.0 innings, allowing just 3 hits and 1 earned run. Assad struck out five and walked two.

Double-A Tennessee

Smokies beat Mississippi 4-3.

  • Cubs #8-ranked prospect, LHP Justin Steele allowed 4 hits and 1 earned run in 3.2 innings. Steele struck out four and walked three.
  • Cubs #29-ranked prospect, Jhonny Pereda went 1-for-3 with a run scored, 2 RBI, and a walk.
  • C Erick Castillo went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Triple-A Iowa

Iowa beat Nashville 5-3.

  • CF Ian Happ went 0-for-4 with a walk and run scored.
  • Cubs #20-ranked prospect, Trent Giambrone went 1-for-5 with 2 RBI.
  • RF Zach Borenstein went 3-for-5 with a run scored and 1 RBI.
  • SS Dixon Machado went 2-for-5 with a run scored and 1 RBI.
  • RHP Dillon Maples tossed 1.0 inning in relief, striking out three with a walk.
