Cubs Minor League Recap (5/12)

It was a short day for the Cubs farm system with just Iowa and Myrtle Beach playing.

Single-A South Bend

High-A Myrtle Beach

Pelicans fell to Carolina 7-2.

  • #4 prospect, RHP Adbert Alzolay made his much-anticipated return. Alzolay is rehabbing for the Pelicans and pitched in his first official game since May 29th last season. It wasn’t a great first game back, but it’s progress. Alzolay went 4.0 innings, allowing 7 hits and 5 earned runs. He struck out 3 and walked 2. Alzolay threw 68 pitches, 44 for strikes. It’s unclear how long his rehab will last before returning to Iowa/being called-up to Cubs.
  • #6 prospect, SS Aramis Ademan went 2-for-4 with 1 RBI and a run scored. Ademan is batting .256 with 16 RBI and 18 walks through 28 games.
