A solid overall Saturday in the Cubs farm system.

Single-A South Bend

Cubs beat West Michigan 10-7.

  • #30 prospect, SS/2B Andy Weber had a monster game, going 3-for-5 with 4 RBI. Weber was a double short of the cycle.
  • #7 prospect, DH/OF Brennen Davis went 2-for-4 with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored in his 2019 debut.
  • #5 prospect, OF Cole Roederer went 2-for-5 with a run scored.

High-A Myrtle Beach

Pelicans fell to Wilmington 2-1.

  • LHP Luis Lugo was solid over 6.0 innings despite the loss. Lugo allowed 3 hits and 2 earned runs. He struck out 4 and walked 3.
  • #6 prospect, SS Aramis Ademan went 2-for-4.

Double-A Tennessee

Smokies beat Pensacola 5-1.

  • #17 prospect, RHP Thomas Hatch was excellent, allowing just one earned run in 6.0 innings. Hatch struck out 8 and walked 1 for the quality start.
  • 1B Vimael Machin went 2-for-4 with a 2-run homer. Machin is batting .357 with 18 RBI and 21 walks in 41 games this season.

Triple-A Iowa

Cubs fell to New Orleans 6-3.

  • 3B Robel Garcia went 2-for-4 with 1 RBI. Garcia now has 36 RBI in 38 games this season.
  • #20 prospect, 2B Trent Giambrone went 2-for-5 with a run scored. Giambrone is 6-for-13 in his last 3 games.
