- RHP Erick Leal was excellent over 6 2/3 innings. Leal allowed just 3 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out a season-high 8.
- C Miguel Amaya went 1-for-4 with 2 RBI.
- 2B Carlos Sepulveda went 1-for-3 with 1 RBI and a walk. Sepulveda has driven in 5 runs while going 5-for-9 at the plate in his last 2 games combined.
Double-A Tennessee
Smokies fell to Chattanooga 10-1.
- C Jhonny Pereda went 3-for-4. Pereda is hitting .263 this season and .385 in his last 10 games.
Triple-A Iowa
Cubs shutout Omaha 9-0.
- RHP Colin Rea is our star prospect of the day after 7.0 shutout innings. Rea allowed just 3 hits while striking out 2. He has been very solid in the Iowa rotation this year, posting a 9-2 record with a 3.27 ERA in 16 starts. Rea was recently named a Pacific Coast League All-Star.
- RHP Duane Underwood Jr. closed out the shutout with 2.0 scoreless frames. Underwood now has a 2.92 ERA in 8 relief appearances this season.
- SS Dixon Machado went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI and a pair of walks.
- OF Mark Zagunis went 1-for-4 with 2 RBI. Zagunis now has 14 RBI and a .337 batting average in 22 games for Iowa.
