Offense looked pretty good again in the Cubs farm system on Monday.

Single-A South Bend

Cubs beat Great Lakes 6-5.

  • Cubs #1 Pitching Prospect, LHP Brailyn Marquez allowed three hits and two earned runs over 4.0 innings. Marquez struck out six and walked two.
  • OF D.J. Artis went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI, 2 runs scored, and 2 walks. Artis has now reached base safely in 8 of his first 9 games.
  • 1B Tyler Durna went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI. Durna has knocked in 8 runs in his last 5 games.
  • SS Delvin Zinn went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Brailyn Marquez

High-A Myrtle Beach

Pelicans fell to Frederick 9-3.

  • Cubs #1 prospect, C Miguel Amaya went 1-for-5 with a 2-run homer.
  • OF Kevonte Mitchell went 1-for-4 with 1 RBI and a run scored.

Double-A Tennessee

Smokies beat Jackson 6-2.

  • Cubs #19 prospect, RHP Tyson Miller dominated. Miller allowed just two hits and an earned run in 5.0 innings. He struck out five and walked one.
  • Cubs #2 prospect, SS Nico Hoerner went 3-for-4 with 2 runs scored.
  • 3B Robel Garcia went 1-for-3 with a 2-run homer.
  • OF Jared Young went 2-for-3 with a walk and 2 runs scored.
  • OF Charcer Burks went 2-for-3 with 1 RBI, a walk, and a run scored.

Triple-A Iowa

Cubs fell to Oklahoma City 10-5.

  • CF Ian Happ went 2-for-5 with a 2-run homer. Happ is 4-for-9 in his last 2 games, improving his average to .244.
  • Cubs #20 prospect, 2B Trent Giambrone‘s fire streak continued. Giambrone went 3-for-5 with a 2-run homer. He has now hit 5 homers and knocked in 10 runs through 10 games this season. Giambrone is batting .302/.302/.767.
