Cubs #27 prospect and 11th round selection from last year, RHP Riley Thompson has been dominant for the South Bend Cubs this season.
Thompson is 3-3 with a 2.39 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 10 starts. He has struck out 47 in 49.0 innings. With the excellent numbers this season, Thompson was named a Midwest League All-Star last week.
Thompson can throw heat, originally a reliever at Louisville in 2017. He was converted to a starter in his Sophomore season and the results have been tremendous.
His fastball ranges from 93-98 mph that can potentially top out 100 mph at times per Thompson’s MLB Pipeline profile.
