Cubs Prospect Highlight: #7 Prospect, OF Brennen Davis Off To Great Start For South Bend

Just a few weeks ago, the South Bend Cubs outfield consisted of D.J. Artis, Nelson Velazquez, and Cole  Roederer, all opening night starters. All 3 have somehow landed on the injured list, opening the door for guys like #7 prospect Brennen Davis, coming in from Arizona.

Davis is now 12 games into the season and is off to a great start. He’s hitting .350 with 2 home runs, 6 RBI, and 5 walks while striking out just  5 times. Brennen’s best game yet came on Tuesday night, going 2-for-4 with a home run and 3 RBI.

His quickness, arm strength, plus a solid bat led to Davis being drafted 62nd overall (2nd round) in last year’s draft by the Cubs. Davis racked up 3 homers and 10 RBI in 18 Arizona Rookie League games last summer. He’s certainly picked up right where he left off with an excellent start to this season.

Here is a quick video highlighting Davis in the outfield and at the plate, we put together below:
