Cubs superstar Javy Baez left Sunday’s game against the Nationals in the 6th inning. Baez turned his right ankle awkwardly while charging a groundball in the 3rd.
Right at the end of the game, we learned an update on Baez:

He stayed out there but looked to be in a bit of discomfort. With a 5-run lead at the time, the Cubs decided to pull Baez as a precaution.

Hopefully, it’s nothing major for Javy Baez. Baez said after the game “My heel kind of got jammed, but all good.” He also told manager Joe Maddon that he expects to play Monday. That’s certainly great news.
