The Cubs just lost a very winnable game against the Reds on Friday, 6-5. Up 5-4 heading into the ninth, Steve Cishek couldn’t convert the save, allowing the game-winning 2-run homer. That marked the Cubs 11th blown save in 20 opportunities.

Ouch. Not a good stat for the Cubs bullpen. Not one team in baseball has blown that many save opportunities. To make it even worse, the Cubs bullpen has walked 97 batters this season. That’s the 3rd worst in baseball.
With Pedro Strop on the IL since May 8th and Brandon Morrow nowhere to be found, the Cubs need to find a closer and shore up the bullpen, quick.
