Not the news the Cubs needed on Saturday. Arguably their best starting pitcher this season, Kyle Hendricks, is heading to the 10-Day IL:

Hendricks did not look himself Friday night against the Dodgers. He allowed 6 hits and 5 earned runs in 4 1/3 innings, picking up the loss. Hendricks had a 1.99 ERA over his last 8 starts and 4 straight quality starts prior.
He is 7-5 with a 3.36 ERA in 14 starts this season.
Calling-up Rowan Wick from Iowa is a bit surprising. Hendricks will miss at least 2 starts, which leaves either RHP Tyler Chatwood or LHP Mike Montgomery to fill-in.
The Cubs top pitching prospect, Adbert Alzolay, has been on fire lately and this would be the perfect opportunity for Alzolay to make his MLB debut.
