Kyle Schwarber launched home run #12 on the season last night against St. Louis. Batting .233 through 58 games this season, it would appear Schwarber is struggling at the plate again. His last 15 games have been a different story.
Schwarber is batting .250 with 6 home runs and 10 RBI in just his last 15. It’s even better over his last 7 games, hitting .333. Schwarber is on pace for close to 30 homers and a batting average over .240 this season. That would be huge for the Cubs slugger to produce those numbers.
Moving Kyle Schwarber to the leadoff spot recently may have been an excellent move by manager Joe Maddon.
