And finally, some highlights from the Cubs farm system on Monday:

  • OF Ian Happ went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI including a 2-run homer and 2 walks for Iowa.
  • 2B Robel Garcia homered again for Iowa, now with 16 on the season. Garcia went 3-for-4 with 4 RBI. He is hitting .298 with 49 RBI in 53 games this season. Garcia has been no doubt the Cubs best offensive prospect this season.
  • OF Jacob Hannemann also drove in 4 runs, with a 3-for-5 performance.
  • And finally for Iowa, RHP Alec Mills allowed just 4 hits and 2 runs over 6.2 innings.
  • Iowa ended up crushing Albuquerque 13-4.
  • #17 prospect, RHP Thomas Hatch picked up the win for Tennesee with a nice start. Hatch yielded 7 hits and 1 earned run over 5.0 innings. He struck out 6 and walked 3.
