The Cubs crushed the White Sox last night and hopefully, they are back to their winning ways. Here is some of the latest Cubs news/notes/fun in bullet points.
- The big news to start out the bullet points is Cubs top pitching prospect, Adbert Alzolay will be called up today and pitch out of the bullpen tonight. Alzolay has been in the potential call-up talks since May 2018 and over the last week. And it’s finally happening! Read more here.
- Willson Contreras had a big game last night with his 6th career multi-homer performance and 2nd this season. Contreras blasted his 3rd career grand slam and gave us this awesome bat flip:

- Here’s a few interesting notes to kind of summarize the Cubs/White Sox series:
Weird two games. First pitch home runs do not lead to wins for either team. Each team wins the pitching match up they weren’t expected to. 7-3 Final tonight. Cubs back in first all alone.

Tuesday night: Cubs face Ivan Nova, who entered the game with the 2nd-worst ERA in baseball. They score 1 run.
Wednesday night: Cubs face Lucas Giolito, who entered the game leading the AL in ERA. They score 4 runs on the first 5 batters of the game.
Baseball, man.

And finally some of the top performances from the Cubs farm system on Wednesday:
- #13 prospect, LHP Brendon Little is finally back in action. Little started the game for Arizona Cubs Team #1. He threw 2 2/3 scoreless innings but allowed 1 hit and 3 walks. Little struck out 2 in the no-decision.
- #21 prospect, 2B Reivaj Garcia went 2-for-4 with 1 RBI for Eugene.
- RHP Eduraniel Nunez was strong over 5.0 innings for Eugene, earning the win. Nunez allowed 4 hits and 1 run while striking out 4.
- RHP Enrique De Los Rios closed out the win for Eugene with a 2.0 inning save. De Los Rios is currently on a rehab assignment due to an undisclosed injury. He should be in South Bend very soon and likely starting games.
