WELCOME BACK, CARGO! Carlos González returns to Coors Field tonight, where he enjoyed a dominant 10-season run with the Rockies (2009-18) that included three All-Star appearances, three Gold Gloves, two Silver Sluggers and a 2010 batting title …after starting the 2019 campaign with Cleveland:
González joined the Cubs on June 3 and has helped the club go 4-0 in his four starts to date.
González departed the Rockies ranked among the franchise leaders in many categories, including games played (2nd, 1,247), doubles (3rd, 277), home runs (4th, 227) and RBI (4th, 749).© With 628 games here,
González has played the second-most games at Coors Field of any big league player, trailing only Rockies legend Todd Helton and his 1,141 games in this ballpark.
González last night hit his first home run as a Cub, a solo shot in the eighth inning to extend Chicago’s lead to 5-1.
Look for a good series from Cargo!
