In Game 1 of the Women’s College World Series finals, the Oklahoma Sooners defeated the Texas Longhorns with a score of 8-3.

The Sooners took an early lead and never looked back, thanks to strong performances from key players. Kelly Maxwell was the winning pitcher, striking out eight batters and allowing only three runs, one earned.

Offensively, Oklahoma was led by home runs from Tiare Jennings, Kinzie Hansen, and Kasidi Pickering. Jennings’ home run in the first inning set the tone for the game, while Hansen and Pickering’s back-to-back home runs in the third inning extended the Sooners’ lead.

With the win, the Sooners moved one win away from their fourth consecutive national title and eighth overall championship. Game 2 of the series is scheduled for Thursday at 8:00 pm ET/7:00 pm CT.
