Purdue Basketball head coach Matt Painter picked up his first commitment for the 2020 class with the addition of Jaden Ivey on Wednesday.
Ivey is a 3-star shooting guard from Marian High School in Mishawaka, Indiana. He also had offers from Butler and Notre Dame.
When asked about Purdue, Ivey said, “When I visited there, I really liked the vibe. Everybody was genuine and cool. That is what you want in a school, to be cool with the coaches. They also had a great run in the tournament and showed what they can do.”
When asked about the Purdue coaching staff, Ivey said, “I just loved the coaching staff. I think it’s honestly the best coaching staff in the country, and they saw something in me. I just love Coach Painter and what they did for me.”
