The Cubs are reportedly calling-up their #1 prospect, Nico Hoerner, to help fill a hole at shortstop with Javier Baez and Addison Russell dealing with injuries.
Hoerner has been a big bat in the Cubs farm system, hitting .284 in 70 games for the AA Tennessee Smokies. Additionally, Nico Hoerner batted .471 with 1 homer and 4 RBI in 14 Spring Training games for the Cubs this year.
His defensive skills are exceptional too:
Making the big leagues 1 year and 2 months after being drafted is unheard of, until now. Welcome to the show, Nico!
